Claude Terrail Polo Cup 2018
Claude Terrail was not only the emblematic boss of the Tour that we know: resilient and a bon vivant, he was also a formidable polo player, captain of the equally famous Maillets d’Argents team.
Where horses trot about, grass does certainly grow back but as for his harried adversaries, they were good enough for some sore muscles. If his motto was “inviting someone means to take responsibility for his happiness for all the time that he is under your roof” he believed in enjoying the open air: in 2004, two years before his death, he set up la Coupe Claude Terrail (Claude Terrail Cup) at the Polo de Bagatelle that his widow Taria and his son André still host in his memory.
Even more chic than the Ascot races, it is also an occasion to get out in the sun and on the lawns along with friends of the Tour d’Argent. If not the breath taking view of the Notre-Dame, the matches are a great alternative to keep you busy through the day. Who will be the winner this year? Bookmakers watch out, the bets are off!
