Discover “Gustav Klimt” exhibition at Atelier des Lumières

So far, wandering through museums was a nice activity but there was nevertheless a downside to it: one could never go into the works of art. One was stuck at the customs and no visa was available anywhere. Since recent times however, immersive exhibitions have become to art what 3D was to cinema: technological innovations that have completely transformed the aesthetic experience.

At the Klimt exhibition, you need to pinch yourself. In the infinite space of a former iron foundry dating back to the nineteenth century, a hundred projectors immerse you into the heart of the most famous paintings of the master of the Vienna Secession. All you can see is gold. There are also exhibits of the works of his heirs, Schiele and Hundertwasser, and the music (by Chopin, Strauss, Mahler…) makes it all a real sound and light experience. The fact that Klimt was the painter of The Kiss is in keeping with the show – The visitor leaves the exhibition completely stunned by this amazing sensory embrace.
