Tour d’Argent baguette
Why is it that our presidents do not pose with a baguette in their official portraits?
Wouldn’t this national emblem make for a beautiful sceptre? The baguette, however, is as symbolic of France as is Marianne and it would therefore be very unfortunate if it were to be treated in such a flippant manner.
At the Tour d’Argent bakery however, the baguette is treated in a truly unique way. The dough is made with natural leaven made from apple and flour sourced from the flourmills at Chars and Brasseuil, fermented over a long period, kneaded firmly by hand but with a light touch, much like an iron fist in a velvet glove. Slit it open lengthwise into two, admire the honeycomb structure inside: one could almost go there on a holiday. And all this for the price of €1.10 a baguette. A masterpiece created with the wave of a magic wand.
