La Tour d’Argent in music : a concert across every floor

A musical journey from the Bar des Maillets to the Toit de la Tour

At La Tour d’Argent, every event offers a new way to experience the House—an opportunity to come together, share special moments and discover La Tour in a new light.

On 8 September, embark on an unprecedented musical journey through the different floors of La Tour.

The experience begins at the Bar des Maillets, where Frédéric Chatoux, Principal Flute of the Paris Opera, joins forces with Agnès Crépel, Principal Violin of the Paris Opera, to perform some of the most beautiful passages from Mozart’s The Magic Flute.

The journey then continues to the Appartement d’Augusta, where Pierre Lenert, Principal Viola of the Paris Opera, and Cécile Lenert invite guests to share a moment of rare intimacy, dedicated to the repertoire for two violas. Through a carefully curated selection of works, they reveal the full richness and depth of this singular combination. The programme includes Harold Arlen’s Over the Rainbow, Massenet’s Mélodie des Érinnyes, Hymne à l’amour, and a few more surprises.

At the very top of La Tour, Aurélien Sabouret, Principal Cello of the Paris Opera, will create a timeless musical interlude with Johann Sebastian Bach’s First Suite for Solo Cello, followed by the first movement of Gaspar Cassadó’s Suite for Solo Cello.

For a dazzling finale on the Toit de la Tour, the four musicians will be joined by a fifth soloist. Together, the five soloists of the Paris Opera will perform François Borne’s brilliant Fantaisie sur Carmen, followed by the irresistible energy of Astor Piazzolla’s Libertango.

As always at La Tour, music is accompanied by the pleasures of the table. The evening will begin with a glass of Tour d’Argent Grand Cru Champagne, followed by a tasting of amuse-bouches, savoury bites and sweet delicacies created by Chef Yannick Franques.

Guests may choose between a signature cocktail or mocktail crafted by mixologist Andy Soto, or a selection of wines from the House’s historic cellars.
